SEDC receives Black Hills Energy Economic Development Grant

The Spearfish Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) received a $3,000 Black Hills Energy Economic Development Grant during its August 2017 Board of Directors meeting.

The Spearfish Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) received a Black Hills Energy Economic Development Grant to help offset the cost of SEDC’s website redevelopment project. Black Hills Energy (BHE) presented the $3,000 check to SEDC during the organization’s August Board of Directors meeting.

“BHE commends SEDC and the commitment to the growth in the quality of life and business environment you have given to our customers in the Spearfish region,” said Julio “Mutch” Usera, Sr. Program Manager-Community Affairs & Economic Development for Black Hills Energy.

“This grant will significantly aid SEDC in our marketing strategies,” said Kory Menken, SEDC Executive Director. “The new SEDC website is a key tool in business retention, expansion and recruitment and will offer innovative methods to promote Spearfish as the ideal place to live and work. We sincerely appreciate the partnership we share with BHE.”

Usera noted that supporting communities Black Hills Energy serves is a critical component of the company’s mission.  “We want to thank you for the role SEDC is playing in offering economic development strategies to better the Spearfish community. We are confident that our partnership in the community of Spearfish will have long-term benefits for both SEDC and the community you support,” he said.

The newly redesigned SEDC website will go live by September 1.
