Recognizing the attraction of Spearfish’s strong economic advantages -as well our outdoor recreation/active lifestyle appeal- SEDC is making a strategic effort to recruit ad
ditional outdoor product manufacturing companies to our community. As part of these efforts, we have placed a half-page advertisement in the Spring issue of The Drake magazine. Founded in 1998, The Drake has become one of the premier fly fishing magazines and is sold in nearly 2,000 stores nationwide including 331 fly shops, 560 Barnes & Noble stores and hundreds of independent retailers. In addition to print, the publication is also available digitally. We will be placing similar advertisements in other outdoor lifestyle magazines in the future.
In addition to strategic ad placements, SEDC will also be attending the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market Show in Denver this July. This is the premier outdoor sports show in the nation with over 600 exhibitors from a variety of industries including backpacking, camping, hiking, climbing, skiing, mountain biking and fly fishing. The show will provide SEDC a unique opportunity to network directly with key decision makers and influencers from the outdoor product manufacturing market. This is extremely timely as Livability.com recently listed Spearfish as one of “The Best Home Base Cities for Adventure Enthusiasts.”
